We hope you like the GMail Backup website. What this site is Gmail Backup is no longer developed. What you are reading is an archive of the project's website, kept online because the documentation and the forum threads are still useful. Nothing on it is interactive: there are no accounts, no forms, no orders and no payments of any kind. What we collect Nothing that you type. The site asks for no name, no address, no telephone number and no payment details, and it has no way to accept them. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It records technical data such as your approximate location, browser, device type and the pages you open, and we use it only in aggregate, to know which parts of the archive are worth keeping. The archived forum The forum and comment pages are a frozen copy of discussions held between 2008 and 2011. They show the display names their authors chose at the time and, here and there, an address or a link an author typed into a post. Nothing further can be added: these are static files, there is no comment form left to fill in and no submission reaches us. If a post of yours is in the archive and you would like it taken down, write to the address above and we will remove it. Cookies Cookies are small files your browser stores. The ones set here belong to Google Analytics, for counting visits, and to Google AdSense, for advertising — plus one that records your consent choice so you are not asked again on every page. Advertising This site is paid for by advertising and shows ads supplied by Google AdSense. As a result of your visit, ad server companies may collect information such as your domain type, your IP address and clickstream information.
Your consent If you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland you are asked for consent before any advertising cookie is set. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time using the privacy settings button shown on the page. Other servers your browser contacts Apart from the Google advertising and analytics described above, nothing on these pages is loaded from anyone else. Every image, stylesheet and script comes from this site, so no other company's servers learn your IP address or which page you are reading. Security These pages are static files, served over HTTPS from Amazon S3 and CloudFront. There is no database, no login and no record of you here to lose. Changes If these practices change, the new version of this policy is published on this page. How to contact us Write to the address above with any question about this policy, or to have something removed from the archive.
