Emails that weren't created in Gmail aren't being backed up.

Hello!

I'm running into a limitation with the software (which is a great concept by the way) where it won't back up emails that I've brought into Gmail through IMAP from Outlook when I migrated fully to Gmail. Is there a reason for this? I'd like to backup all my livesex email from as far back as 2003, but it only starts the backup from the first emails i sent and received from my gmail account.

IMAP issue

Hi,
are you sure, that these emails are correctly saved in the GMail IMAP server? GMail Backup only backups the "All Mails" folder from GMail IMAP and if you don't have your emails there, it is impossible to backup them.

Emails not backed up from non Gmail

I think what this user is trying to do is backup their existing Outlook account with their old POP3 emails prior to joining Gmail? If that is the case the tool does not interface your mailbox in Outlook but rather just backup what is on the gmail servers. A possible solution would be to forward all previous email to Gmail to your gmail account and then perform the backup
