I just thinking of switching to Google Apps for Domain and its seems that I can use "restore" function to upload all my e-mails to new google apps account. Has someone went through this? 	#3Submitted by jan.svec on 11. July 2008 - 13:00. Hi Yes, it is possible to copy emails between your accounts - this night I tried to copy all my e-mails to my testing account. It take about 12 hours and the restoration was successful. Since GMail is able to construct the contact-list from your e-mails, so many contacts are moved too. But in the current version we don't copy the real contact list from GMail. Jan Login or register to post comments

	#7Submitted by dunxd (not verified) on 14. December 2008 - 22:28. More clarity on how to use templates Might be useful to provide clarity on how to use the templates. For example, I found that if you put the # directly before or after a \ (e.g. C:\Gmail backups\#$year\$month.zip) the directories and zip files don't get created. You have to put it directly after your root backup folder instead of the \. The problem here is that the backup program still runs, it just doesn't save the messages anywhere. At least far as I could see. Some examples would be useful - I'd give some, but I am not 100% sure how the templating works. Cheers for a great little app! DunxD Login or register to post comments

A folder for each year with a zipfile for each month. The above string doesn't put the files into a zip file. Can someone explain the correct way of doing this. Running multiple instances of Gmail Backup I've just successfully completed successful migration of a number of google apps accounts. In all about 36 hours of downloading and re-uploading. (It would be nice if Google enabled a domain rename facility, but that's by-the-by here). After some testing, I was running the process on two PCs, but late on I realised it was ok to run multiple instances, and in particular running a restore at the same time as a backup made better use of broadband ADSL capacity.
