Is there a feature that will remove deleted emails from Gmail Backup if the original has been deleted in Gmail

Hi I am using Gmail Backup to backup my gmails. The backed up emails are then copied to an online backup service. To reduce space taken by the backups we would like to remove emails from the backup that are not needed. Can you confirm if by removing the original email from gmail, this also deletes it from the backup.
