I use outlook express and all emails are downloaded and saved there. I read them offline at leisure. Then, why to waste storage of hard disk by creating back up? I do not understand the need to back up as Gmail provides lot of space. It is compatiable with outlook express and it can be read, stored there itself. Pl clarify. I have today installed Google back up. I do not know its advantages? |

To be honest I think you are
To be honest I think you are monumentally ****** ! Why have you installed a program when you "can't see the use for it" and clearly don't understand what it does or the possible advantages ?
If you already have all of your emails downloaded and you back them up on a regular basis then of course this program is not of any use to you.
What happens if Google goes bust tomorrow ? Unlikely, but where will your emails be then ? What happens if your PC is stolen. What good will your outlook express back up do then ?
The whole point of this program is to save a copy of all the e-mails locally for those of us who don't use IMAP / POP on a regular basis. Those of us who want an easy backup of all our mails to burn to disk etc and keep somewhere safe.
People like you shouldn't be allowed computers.
