Size limits on backup?

Has anyone backed up a large number of emails. I have 2GB according to Gmail and I'm reluctant to start the process if there might be a problem.

In particular, I'm not sure how well Windows copes with very large numbers of files in a folder. I could run on a Mac if that was better.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Today I backed up two large accounts with no problems -- one with about 100k messages and one with about 85k.

Gmail backup 0.105

Hi,
the new feature of Gmail Backup 0.105 allows you to organize the emails using your own templates, so you can create your own hierarchy of emails (for example year/from_address/subject.eml).

Let's do some experiments.
